Liang Junmei

Liang Junmei is Technical Manager at Varnek Busbar, responsible for drawing review, insulation process selection and inspection on custom copper busbars for battery packs, energy storage systems and power conversion equipment.

What this role covers

Every customer drawing that comes into the plant is reviewed before it is quoted. That review decides whether the geometry can be made as drawn, whether the bend radius suits the stack thickness, whether the contact pads are large enough for the current, and whether the insulation clearance survives the cut edges. Where a drawing cannot be built as it stands, the questions go back before the quotation rather than after the first article.

The second half of the role is process selection. PVC dip coating, epoxy powder coating and heat-shrink tubing each solve a different problem, and picking the wrong one shows up months later as a cracked film or a corroded joint rather than at inspection. Choosing between them against the customer requirement, and setting the film thickness that reaches the specified withstand voltage, sits with this role.

Standards worked to

Insulation and corrosion testing follows ISO 9227 and GB/T 10125 for neutral salt spray, IEC 60243-1 and GB/T 1408.1 for electric strength, and ISO 2409 with GB/T 9286 for cross-cut adhesion. Temperature rise verification follows IEC 61439-1. Copper stock is controlled to GB/T 5585.1. How each test is run and what is reported is set out on the busbar testing and inspection page.
